A Centre of Excellence in Computer Science

For the third year in a row Whalley Range 11-18 High School has been successfully recognised as an innovative centre for excellence in the pursuit of teaching computing.

We have been considered a ‘lead school’ within the CAS (Computing at School) Network of excellence for our creative, engaging curriculum and coding clubs, as well as providing both support and training to other schools across the North West.

We are delighted to be recognised as a centre of excellence for Computing by the CAS. The school’s hard work and innovative curriculum has engaged many students in Computer Science, and we are keen to continue supporting them to develop these important skills further.
Mr Mustafa (Teacher of Digital Technologies and lead in Digital and Media Industries)

The CAS are part of the BCS – The Chartered Institute for IT, who collaborate with government, industry, academia, and other relevant bodies to establish good working practices and exchange expertise to the global IT profession.
