Students and Staff celebrate International Women’s Day 2017
Numerous activities took place in school based around the campaign theme for 2017 to #BeBoldForChange.
As part of our celebrations, activities have included:
- All form rooms being rebranded after inspirational women
- The Senior Student Leadership Team created a video looking at what it means to be a woman in the 21st century
- Students participated in an iMatter activity during form time
- The whole school took part in a quiz encouraging students to discuss inspirational women with staff in school
Mr Atkinson, Head of Parks House, said of International Women’s Day:
“It is a very important day in the calendar for Whalley Range students and staff. As a school we aim to empower the next generation of female leaders and by building International Women’s Day in to the PSHE curriculum this year, students have had further opportunities to find out about inspirational women and address gender inequality. As always, our students have risen to the challenge and got themselves involved in everything that has been organised for IWD 2017”
