Year 8 SLAT and Final Option Choices Evening

It’s our Year 8 Student Led Academic Tutorial & Study Skills Session/Final Option Choices evening on Monday 12th March 2018.

The duration of the evening is 45 minutes and includes an opportunity for you to meet with your daughter and her Learning Coach to review progress. Your daughter will help to lead the session and explain to you how she feels she is progressing. She will be required to bring her various books along to the meeting, please support us in encouraging her to do so.

You will need to book your appointment to see your daughter’s Learning Coach through our online booking system by following the instructions below. Please ensure that you have made your bookings by Monday 5th March, 2018.

Booking your Appointments

  • Follow the link below, which will take you to the booking system:
  • Enter your name and your daughter’s details and choose ‘Login & Continue’. Select ‘Year 8 Academic Tutorial’
  • Your daughter’s Learning Coach will then be displayed for confirmation. Select ‘Continue to Book Appointment’
  • Select the time you wish to see your daughter’s Learning Coach. Follow the instructions on screen to save your appointments and get the appointment times emailed or printed

On arrival, please come to the Student Services Entrance where you will be signed in, collect an overview of your appointment for the evening and be directed to the Bistro.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your SLAT appointment, for a session with our Heads of Faculty, in the Bistro, which you and your daughter should both attend on how your daughter can improve her study skills. At this session, you will also have the opportunity to:

  • Buy reading books for English, and revision guides for Maths and Science
  • Collect free Maths resources

The Heads of Faculty will be available to answer any questions you may have surrounding your daughter’s progress in her subjects. This is also an opportunity for you to discuss and select the option choices that she will be taking in Humanities and Design, Create and Perform subjects during Year 9. She will be given a booklet explaining these choices.
