House Leaders

House Leaders’ play an important role at the school and help out with various areas of school life. Roles are split in to 8 specialised areas including mentoring, charity, business and assemblies.

Roles

  1. Mentoring (Model students are buddied up with other students who are struggling in terms of attendance, behaviour, punctuality, attainment as a form of support.)
  2. New Students (These leaders work with any new students who start at WRHS any time after September to ensure that they settle in ok.)
  3. Assemblies (These students take on a leadership role in assemblies promoting current events that take place within the school.)
  4. Business Link (This students’ role is to make links with business in the community, such as their attached Business Link. They organise events, such as radio interviews, guest speakers at assemblies etc.)
  5. Peer Listening (These students are a contact between the staff and students in each house. If a student is uncomfortable speaking with a member of staff, then these students intervene.)
  6. Media (The Media Leaders work with the Learning to Lead Team. They also organise things like student voice online and work with the whole school Media Team.)
  7. Sports (The Sports Leaders organise lots of events to raise money for House charities. They also promote inter-house sports events and encourage some healthy competition.)
  8. Charity ( Charity Leaders constantly plan events every half term to raise money for their House Charity e.g. selling sweets, organising competitions, selling tickets, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Attend a whole House Leaders meeting every week to share ideas and liaise with one another
  • Meet in their individual teams weekly to organise events
  • Communicate with the House Team on a regular basis
  • Be a role model for other students in school
