Safeguarding Children

We all share the responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Safeguarding Statement

Parents and Carers should be aware that all our staff are legally obliged to follow up any concerns they may have around Child Protection.

Our designated Child Protection Officer is Ms Allen. The rest of the team consists of Mrs Zarar, Ms Pearson and Mrs White.

Safeguarding children and young people is the responsibility of everyone.

The member of staff on the Senior Leadership Team responsible for Safeguarding is Mrs Zarar, Assistant Headteacher.

Should any member of staff have a concern about a student, they have a duty to report their concern to a member of the Child Protection Team (cpteam@wrhs1118.co.uk).

If we are concerned that a child / young person is at risk of significant harm or is being abused we will refer these concerns to Children, Families and Social Care (CFSC) and / or the Police if necessary. In some circumstances this may happen without the consent or knowledge of parent / carers.

Please view our latest Safeguarding Policy from our policies page, which explains all of the above in more detail.

Bullying

No-one in our school should feel as if they are being bullied and all cases are treated seriously. Students or parents/carers should speak to the Head of House in the first instance.

Other Worries

Please speak to the Head of House, House Co-ordinator, or the school nurse. If you would prefer to speak to somebody outside of school, you can contact ChildLine:
